WYE ISLAND MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Memorial Day on Wye Island (May 29-31, 2021) is a go and registration is open! Eastport Yacht Club (EYC), the group leading the effort for this inter-club rendezvous, is hosting the online registration site at http://eastportyc.org/wye-island. Due to current COVID–capacity limitations, reservations by May 20th are required whether you pay in advance or at the door. Advance payment is $20 per-person and covers weekend facilities rentals and supplies.
($25 per person at the door.)
Although this year’s Wye event has been modified to be COVID-compliant, the weekend should be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate together after months of quarantine and isolation. EYC’s goal is to create a welcoming and comfortable environment while maintaining “reasonable” social distancing. With that as their guiding principal, Sunday’s dinner will be a bring-your-own picnic. (Note for Wye first-timers: our traditional Sunday dinner has been a catered BBQ chicken shindig with a community buffet of shared homemade appetizers/sides/desserts.)

A couple of CBC volunteers have offered to grill chicken on Sunday for members interested in this optional idea; it’s a nod to a longtime festive tradition. Let me know soonest if you’re planning to attend and interested in a CBC-member BBQ on Sunday, May 30. Please contact me soonest by email, text, or phone so we can figure out the details and execute the plan.
