When entering this site, click on "Navigational Charts, Satellites and Roadmaps". A navigational chart will be centerd on the Bay Bridge. This chart looks like your regular navigational chart but also includes labels of streets, roads, town names, etc. By using the navigational arrows in the upper left corner, you can navigate to any desired location similar to using Mapquest. Also, try moving around the Bay by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the chart. By using the zoom buttons, you can magnify or reduce your view. By clicking Granary Creek, Wye Island an example of a zoomed view of Granary Creek, Wye is is shown.

In the upper right, you will notice two larger boxes called "MAP" and "SATELLITE". Clicking either one of these presents either a map view or a satellite view superimposed with the designations of local streets, roads and towns. Click back and forth to see the difference.

Now click on the SATELLITE box. Next repeatably click the NOAA box to toggle back and forth between the chart view and a satellite photograph. Also, to the right of the NOAA box, you will see a horizontal slider. In the Satellite view, drag the slider to the left in the middle. Release the mouse button and you will see the chart and satellite photo merged. (Using the Granary Creek example, zoom in and you will see those two boats are rafted in about 8ft. of water.)

To view roadmaps, click on the MAP box to get to map view. Next repeatably click the NOAA box to toggle back and forth between the chart view and a roadmap view. To the right of the NOAA box, you will see a horizontal slider. In the MAP view, drag the slider to the left in the middle. Release the mouse button and you will see the chart and map merged. view. Zoom out to get a better idea of the surrounding roads and towns.

By clicking on LABELS, you can remove or add labels to the current views.
